A Chief Inspector Gamache Mystery Book 18 by Louise Penny, 2022, Audiobook narrated by Robert Bathurst, released in 2022, Macmillan Audio

This book started out at the scene of a murder many years prior. It was at this investigation that Inspector Gamache first encountered Jean-Guy Beauvoir, a young man who was about to be fired from his position in the Sûreté du Québec. Rather than allowing him to be fired, Gamache uses him in the investigation. This was a lot of background information, some of which had already been covered in Penny’s prior books, but that older investigation proves to be relevant in regards to the current case.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than her last one. I have one more to go but I assume that the author will publish another one this fall, so I can assume that I have a couple more to go.
