This book is about a reclusive Wall Street Mogul who amassed a huge fortune, even as he weathered the crash of 1929. He is reclusive but wishes to tell his story for posterity and paints a picture of his wife who had died years earlier.

The book is very strange and a bit hard to understand what is going on and where it is going. i had inklings of the final result, but I didn’t get confirmation until the last chapter.

The book won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 2022 as well as many other awards. I don’t think it is one of my all-time favorite books, but I give it credit for being original and different. It is written well and makes the reader want to investigate more.
