This is a wonderful book to experience.  It is about a person who grew up in very poor circumstances but had a talent for music and the piano.  Conroy pours an incredible amount of detail regarding the music and yet is able to hold the reader’s attention.  The characters are extremely human and are full of surprises.  The book is well-written and easy to follow.

A book well worth reading.
