Unidentifed Photographs from Emma Staack's Albums
There were two heavy velvet covered albums that were in Hildred (Thurow) Wilson's possession when she died. It is assumed that she received this from her mother, Emma (Staack) Thurow. Hopefully, we can identify some of these pictures and moved them out of this album to other, identified picture albumes

12		Unknown - Portrait of baby in gown Photographer is Sumner, Northfield, MN. Owners were Ira E. Sumner and Charles E. Sumner. They operated as Sumner & Son at 315 South Division St. in Northfield in 1907. Note that Charles LeRoy Staack, son of Augustus Staack, was born in Northfield in 1884. If Sumner operated earlier in Northfield, this portrait may have been of Charles LeRoy.

15		Unknown - Portrait of baby in gown. Photographer is Nelson Bros., St. Paul, MN. They operated this studio at 5 East Third Street from 1889 to 1891. This could be Carl E. Staack, Jr., who was born in St. Paul in 1890.

32		Unknown - Portrait of man Photographer is Franz Koebcke, Colberg and Coeslin. There is also a stamp indicating C. Drager, Colberg. Colberg is now Kołobrzeg, West Pomerania, Poland. It was once in Prussia. Because of the origin of this photgraph, it is probably a relative of Louis Thurow, husband of Emma (Staack) Thurow since he apparently came from this Colberg.

34		Unknown - Portrait of Man - 1885 Photographer is Chas. A. Tenny, Winona, MN This may have been a portrait of Gustavus Staack, oldest son of Mathias and Mary (Peterson) Staack. He was born in 1855 so he would have been 30 when the portrait was taken.
35		Unknown - Portrait of man and wife - 1885 Photographer is Chas. A. Tenney, Winona, MN Suspect that one of these individuals is the child of Mathias and Mary (Peterson) Staack. Because of the date taken, it could be either Gustavus (born 1855) or Charles/Carl (Born 1858) but Charles/Carl was living in St. Paul with his wife.

37		Unknown - Portrait of man and woman - 1885 Photographer is Chas. A. Tenney, Winona, MN. This is probably a son and daughter-in-law of Mathias and Mary (Peterson) Staack. Because of the year it was taken, it might be their oldest son, Gustavas, who was born in 1855 which would make him 30 years old in the photograph. His wife, Sarah, was born in 1861 and she would have been 24 at the time the portrait was taken.
38		Unknown - Portrait of man in military uniform Photographer is Reinh. Goeldner, Coeslin. Coeslin is now Kosalin, Poland, but was once part of Prussia in Western Pomerania. Kosalin is located east and very near the town that was once Colberg, Prussia (now Kolobrzeg, Poland), where Louis Thurow, husband of Emma Staack came from. This photograph may be of someone associated with the Thurow family rather than the Staack family which was from Holstein, farther west.

45		Unknown - Portrait of toddler in gown Photographer is W.C. Jobson, Duluth, MN. This photographer operated at 19 Twentieth Ave. West in Duluth in 1901.
