• Notes

  NOTES: Of Burrows W. McAnally, Ms. Mendes writes the following: Burr married 1st to Mary Ball, and 2nd to Hannah Ball. No one seemed to know by which wife he had the children they remembered: Gertrude, Roscoe, Maude, Jim, Earl, Benny and Ray. From census records, it was obvious that there were more children, and all were the children of Burr and Mary with the exception of Gertrude and Roscoe. I have assumed that Roscoe was the son of Burr and Hannah as he did not appear in the 1880 census nor the 1900 census, and was known to have grown to adulthood. Gertrude, who died in infancy, has been listed as a child of Burr and Hannah for the sake of listing her someplace in the family. In 1878 he lived 1 mile from Harrisonville, Cass Co., Missouri. In July 1886, he was living in Everett, Bates Co., Missouri. In 1924 he was alive and living in Poplar, Roosevelt Co., Montana. (According to family letters and records.) He left Montana and went to Porterville, California, where his step-son, Hugh Brown, lived. He died there and is buried in Old Porterville Cemetery, in Porterville. Missouri Dec. 1890 step-son (Compiler's note: If the above census enumerations were accurate, Benjamin would have to have been the son of Hannah, by her first husband or of Hannah and Burr, since Benjamin's date of birth is after Mary's death.)
