Location: 50 ft south of ROUTE 102 at TEL pole # 7 800 burials with 357 inscriptions from 1823 to 1985 NOTE: 3 acres behind Clayville Church. The cemetery was opened in 1847 when Samuel Hoyt sold lots in what is the southern most part of the present cemetery. Owners of the surrounding land also sold lots. Deed Bk 11 Pg 103 1847: Samuel Hoyt to Timothy Hopkins, John Harrington, Patrick Kelley, George Matteson, Leona & Horace Cahoone, Daniel Thurber, Abraham Newton-lots 2,3,4,5,6,7&8. Lot 2 for Hoyt, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 for the public. Proprietors to make a fence. This cemetery has been recorded but not checked.
