• Notes

  Pearl took in students (room and board) from the local college, and Willie was the janitor. Willie was a violinist and Pearl played the piano. She actually played for Peggy Lee when she was young and sung in Valley City, N.D. before she became professional. Pearl also took care of both her parents in their home until they passed away. Frankie had several strokes you can tell from pictures even in 1954 that she was sitting. George was healthy and lived past 90 and Pearl enjoyed doing the caregiving from what I have heard. They lived right on the banks of the river in Valley City and "Pop" fished and they had picnics in their back yard until the river started flooding. They built a dike in later years to stop the water from reaching the house. [4]
