  • Notes
    • Jim fought in Europe in WW II, and was one of those to occupy Germany M ay 1945. He soon met his second wife, a German woman, and bore a 3rd son. He went into business in Stuttgart. He had 2 homes in his retirement, in Bad Reichenhal, Bavaria, and Bad Oldeslohe, Schleswig-Holstein.
His middle name came from the family of Elizabeth Tichborne, whom a Tillinghast ancestor in England supposedly married. She was a descendent of King Edward III and of Hotspur (in Shakepeare's Henry IV). This marriage to Elizabeth Tichborne has been shown to be erroneous. All 3 sons living June 2002.
