Notes |
- Janet Cox of Sacramento, CA has the marriage date of Tillinghast and Clarissa as Feb. 26, 1853. Tillinghast was employed as a miner according to the 1860 census. Tradition has it that Tillinghast's daughter Callie spoke Welsh. A lot of Welsh immigrants worked in the coal mines in Trumbull County and this may have been why she learned the Welsh language. Tillinghast was in the Civil War.
Tillinghast and his family are listed in Ohio's 1880 census in Brookfield Twp., Trumbull County.
