He was born the son of Martin and Angie (Vaughn) Harris. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Clay; two sons, James of Schuylerville and Thomas of Menands; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Bird of Lynchburg, VA; a sister, Mrs. Walter Sanger of Ingraham.
