- Kenneth E. Allar, 73, of Spooner, died on Friday, June 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth with his family at his side.
Ken was born on June 16, 1936, to Vera (Chalmers) and Charles Allar in Springbrook. He graduated from Spooner High School in 1954.
He married Jacklyn Lewis on August 2, 1954, at United Methodist Church in Spooner. The couple moved to Silver Bay, Minn., where they raised four children.
Ken was also a member of Wisconsin's Army National Guard, Tank Co. 128th Infantry Regiment. Ken had a deep love of music and was happiest with a guitar in his hand. He was an avid golfer and bowler for many years and loved watching sports, especially baseball and football.
Ken is survived by his wife, Jacklyn; sons, David (Terrie) of White Bear Lake, Minn., Barry of Seattle, Wash., and Kevin of Arcadia; daughter, Debra (Rick) Baune, of Tabor, S.D.; six granddaughters, Lyndsay, Libby, Anna, Christy, Shawna and Renae; one grandson, Eric; three brothers, Vernon (Carolyn) of Rice Lake, Robert (Carol) of Silver Bay, and Corwin of Hayward; three sisters, Geraldine Adank of Veneta, Ore., Alys Wendlandt of Rice Lake, and Margaret (LaVern) Johnson of Webb Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Charlotte; and brother, Edward "Tiny". [1]
