Marion Frances Broring Stanton

Marion Frances Broring Stanton, 98, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Sauer Memorial Home.
Marion was born Oct. 30, 1905, at Dover, Minn., to John and Selma Roeder Duffy. She graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1923.
Marion married Arthur Broring on Nov. 21, 1925. He died Dec. 31, 1958. She married Donald Stanton March 19, 1960. He died June 25, 1975.
Marion was the postmaster at La Moille for 30 years. She also worked for Foss Candy Co. and the McConnon Co. She retired in 1975.
She is a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Pickwick, where she was past president of its ladies aid.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Broring; a stepson, Bob Stanton; and a son-in-law, Gale Henderson.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris Henderson of La Moille; a stepson, Tom (Corrine) Stanton of Dakota; step-daughter-in-law, Elona Stanton of La Crescent; 14 grandchildren, Dick (Cheryl) Henderson, Jane (Peter) Vescio, Perry (Sue) Henderson, Karl (Lindsey) Henderson, Natalie (Al) Siok, Nancy (Mike) Aldinger, Bill Broring, Julie (Kevin) Finnestad, Robert (Karen) Broring, Douglas Stanton, Pat Stanton, Robin Stanton, Tammie (Dean) Irving, Robbie (Nikki) Stanton; 21 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brigette, Peter Joe, Nicholas, Aaron, Craig, Brett, Brandon, Lindsay, Brianna (Adam), Angela, Josh, Jessica (Mark), Sam, Noah, Emily, Anna, Griffin, Zach, Elizabeth, Hannah; eight great-great-grandchildren, Tom, Tia, Shilo, Amy, Matti, McKala, Cole and Hayden; sister-in-law, Helen Rapp of Spring Park, Minn., and daughter-in-law, Geraldine (Carl) Palenske of Winona.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pickwick, with the Rev. Galen Riediger officiating. Burial will be in Hiler Cemetery, Nodine.
Visitation will be held at the church after 10 a.m. today.
Casket bearers will be Dick, Perry, Aaron and Karl Henderson; and Bob and Bill Broring.
Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church or Sauer Memorial Home.
