Margaret C. "Peggy" Carpenter, 98, of Winona died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center, in Wabasha, Minn.

Time with her family was a great treasure to Margaret. She will be greatly missed.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Sally (Wayne) Reich, Rochester, Minn., and Sandra (Anthony) Kalica, Manchester, N.H.; grandchildren, Mark (Cindy) Porter, Michael Porter, Paul (Deeann) Kalica and Joseph Kalica; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Gallagher, St. Petersburg, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold Goetzman; and sisters, Florence Goetzman, Helen Jereczek, Anne Piechowiak, Dorothy Malotke, Ruth Goergen and Rose Goetzman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. The Rev. Richard Colletti will officiate.
Margaret will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Winona.
Visitation will be at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Research at Mayo Clinic, 200 — 1st Street, SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
