    • Leland James "Lee" Scribner, 88, of Rice Lake died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. He was born June 28, 1926 in Cumberland, WI to James and Jenny (Jorgenson) Scribner, was raised there and graduated from Cumberland High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served during WWII. He was married in Pine City, MN on January 13, 1946 to Elaine Peterson. They lived in Comstock and he sold Pontiacs for Bents Motors. He then worked as sales/marketing manager for many agricultural seed companies. He was active in his community, including serving on the board of the Rice Lake Golden K. He was also very involved at Bethany Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was nearly obsessed with lawn care and gardening.

      He is survived by: his wife for over 69 years, Elaine of Rice Lake
      4 sons, Barry L. (Rebecca Drechsel) Scribner of Armonk, NY, Timothy J. (Kim) Scribner of Rochester, MN, Jeffrey T. (Nita) Scribner of Chanhassen, MN and Rodney M. Scribner of Rochester, MN; 7 grandchildren: Alicia, Zara, Noah, Ryan, Stacey, Marcus and Nick; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
