Lewis, 1959<\/p>\n<p>This book was fun to read as it\u00c2\u00a0is extremely clever.\u00c2\u00a0 The book is a series of letters from the senior devil to his nephew who is just breaking into the business.\u00c2\u00a0 In many of the letters he is very critical of his nephew&#8217;s shortcomings in dealing with his subject and is eventually furious at him for &#8220;letting him off the hook&#8221; when his subject moves more toward becoming a true Christian.<\/p>\n<p>While the book was extremely clever, I felt it was much more insightful regarding contemporary morality than it was regarding Christian beliefs.\u00c2\u00a0 The focus was on how the devil could tempt his subject away from being a &#8220;good&#8221; person and corrupt him into becoming a &#8220;bad&#8221; person.\u00c2\u00a0 If you are trying to discern the roots of true evil or the nature of unwavering faith, I don&#8217;t think you will find the answers here. <img decoding=\"async\" title=\"3 1\/2 stars\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wilsonld.com\/weblog\/wp-includes\/images\/stars-3-5.gif\" alt=\"3 1\/2 stars\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by C.S.
