Smith, 1984<\/p>\n<p>This is a lovely book about three generations of a family that settled in Florida just prior to the Civil War.\u00c2\u00a0 The characters are interesting and the author keeps the pace going by including\u00c2\u00a0 just enough action events at the right moments.\u00c2\u00a0 The pace of the transformation of Florida from a virtual wilderness to a mecca for tourism and development in a relatively short span of time makes the book even more interesting.<\/p>\n<p>This book is an enjoyable read that I would recommend to anyone.<em><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"4 1\/2 stars\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wilsonld.com\/weblog\/wp-includes\/images\/stars-4-5.gif\" alt=\"4 1\/2 stars\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Patrick D.
