{"id":1472,"date":"2013-09-22T12:54:09","date_gmt":"2013-09-22T18:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wilsonld.com\/weblog\/?p=1472"},"modified":"2015-05-31T09:00:21","modified_gmt":"2015-05-31T15:00:21","slug":"112263","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wilsonld.com\/weblog\/?p=1472","title":{"rendered":"11\/22\/63"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>by Stephen King, 2011, Scribner, New York<\/p>\n<p>My first comment on this book is that it is long &#8230; very long.\u00c2\u00a0 While the book was interesting and the concept is thought-provoking, it did bog down a bit at times.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen King is a very talented writer.\u00c2\u00a0 This is a book, he says, he started to write a few years after the Kennedy assassination but decided to put it down.\u00c2\u00a0 He picked up the project again and published this 850-page novel in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>I think that King went off the deep end a bit when depicting the what the world would have looked like had Kennedy survived the assassination attempt.\u00c2\u00a0 No doubt there would have been unforeseen consequences, but I had a hard time with the scenario that King cooks up.<\/p>\n<p>Did I mention the book was a bit long?\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure I would recommend tackling this one as I am on the fence as to whether or not it was worth it.\u00c2\u00a0 It certainly has its merits, though. <img decoding=\"async\" title=\"3 stars\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wilsonld.com\/weblog\/wp-includes\/images\/stars-3-0.gif\" alt=\"3 stars\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Stephen King, 2011, Scribner, New York My first comment on this book is that it is long &#8230; very long.\u00c2\u00a0 While the book was interesting and the concept is thought-provoking, it did bog down a bit at times.
